My name is Lorna Forbes. I am originally from Jamaica, West Indies. I arrived in the United States with my parents at the age of 19, the year 1982. We settled in Paterson, New Jersey. I received my Associates Degree in Nursing in 1989 and proceeded to work at Passaic Community General Hospital on the Telemetry Floor. While working at Passaic Community General Hospital, I attended Seton Hall University and received my bachelor’s degree in science and my Registered Nurse Degree in 12/1993. I got married in July 9, 1994 and then moved to Syracuse NY where my husband was employed at Syracuse Community Health Center as an OB/Gyn Physician. I received my Family Nurse Practitioner degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University, School of Nursing in 2010 and later received my Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner Degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2018. I am Board Certified in both Family Nurse Practititioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I am currently practicing Child and Adult Psychiatry at my private practice in Fayetteville, New York.

I still reside in the Syracuse Area. I have four daughters ages 28, 25, 21and 19. My husband deceased from cancer in the year 2015. He was the best husband and father in the universe. He has taught me so much about being thankful for the blessings of God and not to dwell on all the” supposed things” that I don’t have. I am currently a single parent and enjoys taking care of my daughters. I am a Christian and
thank God daily for all his blessings.

It has always been my dream to have my own practice and I thank God that it is finally happening. My personal philosophy in life is to put God first, being thankful for all that I have, to always be kind to others even if it is seen by some as weakness, always be empathic, to look at my struggles as an opportunity for self-improvement and an opportunity to help others and finally to be a beacon of light to all who cross my path

For my patients, I desire to travel with you on your journey as you navigate your way through life and to use the talent that I am given to help you find their way to self-realization and most importantly, Peace. Remember, even in your darkest moment, there is always a way, the sun always rises every morning. Try and reach deep within yourself when you feel you cannot hang on anymore, and you will find that you have the strength and perseverance all along, right within you. And remember, life is not meant to be all red roses, there will be times when you cannot see a way forward, this is never the case. Trust me, there is always a way out. Your life is precious, you are precious, you are unique, you are loved and the world will never be the same without you. There is power within you that you have not yet tapped into. Reach out to your friends and family in times of need, but please never forget that the greatest power is within you. You have the power to change your circumstances.
